SEISMOLOGICAL INVESTIGATION AT MEKAAD RADWAN OTTOMAN PERIOD- CAIRO-EGYPT
Earthquakes are generally considered the most dangerous factor affecting the historicalbuildings. The present study is focusing on the determination of the effects of earthquakeactivities on the historical site of Mekaad Radwan Compound near outskirt of old FatimidCairo, the area of Bab Zwiela "Bawabat El Metwali". The analysis of the seismicity dataaround the site under investigation is carried out to define the design or credible earthquake. In order to achieve the scientific, practical works; seismotectonics, Simulation of earthquakeground motion in the site and site response are studied. The deterministic and probabilisticapproaches were carried out showing that the credible earthquake may be located at thesame seismic zone of Cairo 1992 earthquake.

STUDY MUMMIFICATION TECHNIQUE ON A SELECTED GROUP OF THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD MUMMIES IN EGYPTIAN MEUSEM USING CT SCANNING AS NON DESTRUCTIVE TOOL
Using advanced modern technology is considered one of the most important methods of scientific examination and registration. This should be used in the field of the conservation of mummies. Identifying the case of the mummy and putting the mummy outwardly or inwardly are the first stage of good prognosis of damage, which naturally lead to the development of an appropriate plan for the operations of treatment and conservation starting from the stage of cleaning until museum presentation, through a consistent process with the requirements of preventive conservation. Computed Tomography Scanning (CT Scanning) is a non-invasive technique that does not harm the mummies. It has become an important tool for studying many features of ancient Egyptian mummies. The Study of Ancient Egypt, and particularly the examination of mummies, are subjects of interest of scientist and the public. It is fortunate that modern diagnostic methods of the study of ancient human beings can be applied today. The last forty years have seen a large number of CT scanning studies of Egyptian mummies from different museums and collections in Egypt, Europe and the USA. There is no doubt that this technique has proved to be a powerful tool in the field of Egyptian human remains research. CT studies confirm that the ancient Egyptian used several methods for the degree of quality of mummification This started with the selection of the most Suitable material to act as a filler for the internal to the body. CT studies confirm that the ancient Egyptian has used methods to support the body and maintain the external shape of the mummy. Research also stresses on the need for a new reading of the science of mummification according to the latest scientific methods of examination without any destructive activities toward the components of the various mummies. The main aim of this research is to study thoroughly the Third Intermediate Period mummies to show the level of sophistication of the technique of the mummification reached in this period.

NEW THEBAN TOMBS MAPPING PROJECT (NTTMP) PRELIMINARY REPORT, SEASONS 2014-2015
Thebes (Luxor) and its necropolis were involved in the world heritage list in 1979. The NTTMP project intends to contribute to the archaeological and topographical exploration of the Theban necropolis and it's layout as a world heritage site. Enhancing the value of newly discovered tombs will attract scholars and foreign missions to work and raise funds to preserve these tombs. Many maps were drawn for the Theban necropolis until the end of the 20th century. After the demolition of the modern village of al-Qurna and its houses in 2005, no up-to-date maps were established for the site including the newly discovered tombs. The last complete mapping project for the whole necropolis was accomplished by F. Kampp in 1989.Her results were published in 1996. In addition to previous surveys such as the Metropolitan Museum of Fine Arts mapping project and the survey of Porter & Moss, P. Piccione conducted another survey for the site of Sheikh Abdel-Qurna in 2005.One of the main issues of NTTMP therefore is to provide a general map of the entire necropolis including known and newly discovered tombs with full documentation and a consistent numbering system.
